Carolina Kopelioff conoció la magia de Disney por dentro. Su carrera como actriz comenzó a los 17 años, trabajando en TV en la serie Soy Luna, con la cual se transformó en una especie de rockstar con giras internacionales y grabaciones de discos. Desde ese momento su vida dio un vuelco que la llevó a protagonizar series como Supernova y Selenkay para Prime Video y Star+. También cuenta con varias películas y una carrera arriba de los escenarios que empezó también con la magia, en este caso de Aladín el musical.
Carolina Kopelioff experienced the magic of Disney from within. Her acting career began at the age of 17, working on TV in the series “Soy Luna,” which turned her into a sort of rockstar with international tours and record recordings. From that moment on, her life took a turn that led her to star in series such as “Supernova” and “Selenkay” for Prime Video and Star+. She also has several films under her belt and a stage career that also began with magic, in this case, the musical “Aladdin.”
¿Cuál fue el papel que más te impactó a nivel personal?
El que más me impactó fue el de Nina de Soy Luna, más que nada porque fue mi primer trabajo, yo era muy chica y fue un cambio fuerte y repentino en mi vida personal. Diez días después de terminar el colegio empecé a trabajar por primera vez, sentí que dejaba de ser adolescente para formar parte de un proyecto con una producción inmensa y un personaje maravilloso. Fue todo un desafío, era una serie que no solo se bailaba y se cantaba sino que tenía que patinar también. Fue además la puerta de entrada para todo lo que vino después y lo que vendrá.
Como artista, ¿tenés claro el momento más significativo en el que te diste cuenta del impacto que puedes tener en el público?
En Soy Luna hubo un momento en que todos nos dimos cuenta de la dimensión que tenía a nivel mundial, la cantidad de gente que seguía la serie, que era parte de su día a día, fue algo que descubrimos aún más en las giras con los estadios llenos de chicos y grandes, eso fue muy fuerte para mi, ahí me cayó una ficha.
What was the role that had the biggest impact on you personally?
The role that had the biggest impact on me was Nina from “Soy Luna,” mainly because it was my first job. I was very young, and it was a strong and sudden change in my personal life. Just ten days after finishing school, I started working for the first time. I felt like I was no longer a teenager but part of a project with an immense production and a won derful character. It was a challenge because it was a series that involved not only dancing and singing but also skating. It was also the gateway to everything that came after and what will come in the future.
As an artist, do you have a clear moment when you realized the impact you can have on the audience?
In “Soy Luna,” there was a moment when we all realized the worldwide dimension of the series, the number of people who followed it and made it part of their daily lives. We discovered this even more during the tours with stadiums filled with kids and adults. It was a powerful experience for me, and that’s when it hit me.
¿Qué haces para nutrir y fomentar tu propia creatividad en un mundo lleno de distracciones?
La verdad es que sigo tomando clases siempre, me sigo formando, leo mucho, miro muchas películas y series, veo mucho teatro, de esa forma, compartiendo y juntandome con amigos y colegas que hacen cosas conmigo o que hacen cosas que me gustan, sobre todo cuando no estoy rodando porque es cuando tengo más tiempo libre para buscar nuevos desafíos y volver a tomar clases con los maestros.
La vida en el mundo del espectáculo puede ser impredecible y cambiante. ¿Cómo encuentras equilibrio y estabilidad en medio de esa dinámica constante?
Sí es muy cambiante todo el tiempo, sorpresiva y por momentos extraña, como que hay una incertidumbre tan grande, como que nunca sabés lo que va a pasar. Tengo amigas que no están en este rubro y ya tienen organizado todo el año y ahi pienso cómo me gustaría que algún día me suceda tener todo planificado. Pero a la vez creo que me aburriría. De repente aparecen proyectos que no te esperás, con personajes e historias muy ricas. Entonces esta dinámica requiere mucho aprendizaje, paciencia, mucha pasión también porque si no es difícil de sostener, porque van a existir momentos donde haya mucho trabajo y otros donde haya menos, pero yo lo que intento siempre es estar en movimiento.
¿Cómo lográs no traicionarte, ser fiel a ti misma y a tus principios en medio de las demandas de la industria del entretenimiento?
Es algo super móvil eso, depende de cada proyecto. Uno va creciendo y le van interesando otras cosas, otros papeles. Por suerte me tocaron proyectos muy lindos a nivel artístico y personal. Siempre me llevé muchos amigos, que es lo que te queda de los proyectos.
What do you do to nurture and foster your own creativity in a world full of distractions?
The truth is, I continue to take classes, always educating myself. I read a lot, watch many movies and series, see a lot of theater. By doing so, I connect and meet with friends and colleagues who do things with me or do things that I like, especially when I’m not shooting because that’s when I have more free time to seek new challenges and take classes with masters.
Life in the entertainment industry can be unpredictable and ever-changing. How do you find balance and stability amidst that constant dynamic?
Yes, it’s constantly changing, surprising, and sometimes strange. There’s a great uncertainty, as you never know what will happen. I have friends who are not in this industry and already have everything planned for the year, and sometimes I think about how I would like to have everything organized one day. But at the same time, I think I would get bored. Suddenly, unexpected projects come along with rich characters and stories. So, this dynamic requires a lot of learning, patience, and a lot of passion because it can be challenging to sustain. There will be moments with a lot of work and others with less, but what I always try to do is keep moving forward.
How do you stay true to yourself and your principles amidst the demands of the entertainment industry?
It’s a very fluid thing; it depends on each project. As you grow, you become interested in other things and other roles. I have been fortunate to be part of very beautiful projects artistically and personally. I always make many friends, and that’s what stays with you from the projects.
¿Cómo te conectas con tu propia autenticidad y cómo te ayuda en tu trabajo?
Es re importante seguir el propio motor de cada uno, el propio deseo, creo que en ese sentido siempre lo seguí. Cada uno con su caminito, de eso hablan las elecciones que tomamos. Además de tener en la cabeza qué tipo de proyectos quiero hacer, con quiénes me quiero formar. Son las decisiones, los sí o los no, las que te llevan a ser auténtico y a intentar conectarte con lo más profundo.
¿Hay algún proyecto o tipo de personaje en particular que te gustaría explorar en el futuro?
Soy muy móvil en ese sentido, pero lo que más admiro en los personajes es el despojo, la soltura, el encarnar desde lo más profundo del corazón y el cuerpo. Admiro la entrega total. Quiero seguir entregándome a cada personaje al 100%. Aprender y hacer obras de teatro que me conmueven, hacer películas porque el cine me apasiona, también las series que son como una película cada capítulo, quiero hacer todo!
How do you connect with your own authenticity, and how does it help you in your work?
It’s crucial to follow one’s own drive, one’s own desires. I believe I have always followed that path. Each one has their own journey, and our choices reflect that. In addition to knowing what kind of projects I want to do and who I want to learn from, it’s the decisions, the yes or no, that lead you to be authentic and try to connect with the deepest part of yourself.
Is there any particular project or type of character you would like to explore in the future?
I am very open to possibilities in that sense, but what I admire the most in characters is their vulnerability, their ease, their embodiment from the depths of the heart and body. I admire total commitment. I want to continue giving myself 100% to each character, to learn and be part of theater plays that move me, to make movies because I’m passionate about cinema, and also to be involved in series that are like a film in each episode. I want to do it all!
