She grew up between islands, cultures, and cities. Born in Greece, raised in Sweden, lived in Paris and New York, and traveled to over 50 countries. Today, Athanasia—whose name means “immortality” in Greek—resides in Ibiza, where she channels her creative universe into sustainable, transformative fashion. In this interview, she shares her inner journey, her bond with nature, and magic as a way of life.

Where are you in your life right now?‍

I’ve always been drawn to the mystical and the unseen. Traveling the world fed my curiosity, but I’m now in a phase of stillness. After the intensity of New York, Ibiza was a radical shift. The island gave me space to reconnect with myself and my roots. I now create from a place of love, not urgency—and that changes everything.

What places shaped your view on fashion and design?‍

Paris was the beginning. At 21 I moved there and was forever changed. I fell in love with vintage markets, architecture, and the elegance of Parisian women. Japan was another turning point: its craftsmanship, aesthetics, and spiritual approach to objects left a lasting mark. These contrasting worlds taught me to honor both heritage and precision.

Your garments speak of transformation. How is that reflected in your creative process?‍

My first designs emerged from a very dark time. Creating was a way to heal. Now, I still design as a transformative act, but from light. Each piece tells a story—of change, re-birth, personal power. The contrast between then and now shows how much I’ve grown, and how much strength is born from soulful creation.

How important is sustainability in your brand?‍

It’s essential. I work with recycled materials, I partner with local communities, and embrace slowliness. I like to call it “ready to reuse” because I believe in style without harming the Earth. My mother dressed me in second-hand clothes, which gave me freedom. Today I celebrate that same freedom through my designs.

What story does your latest collection tell?‍

It’s inspired by the Garden of Eden—a symbol of beauty, desire, and transformation. Roses, forbidden fruit, snakes, and the act of shedding skin all appear through floral patterns and organic textures. The guiding theme is divine femininity and the power of inner rebirth. Each garment invites introspection and change.

Creció en una pequeña isla en Grecia, se mudó a París, pasó por Nueva York y viajó por más de 50 países. Actualmente, está basada en Ibiza, donde fusiona arte, sostenibilidad y una profunda conexión con la transformación personal en su marca. Cada pieza que diseña cuenta una historia de reinvención y belleza consciente. En esta entrevista, nos abre las puertas a su universo creativo, su relación con la naturaleza y la forma en que la moda puede ser un acto de magia y autodeterminación.

¿En qué momento de tu vida te encontrás?‍

Desde siempre me atrajo lo místico y lo invisible. Viajar por el mundo alimentó mi curiosidad, pero hoy transito una etapa de quietud. Luego de la intensidad de Nueva York, llegar a Ibiza fue un cambio rotundo. La isla me dio el espacio y la calma para reconectarme conmigo misma y con mis raíces. Hoy creo desde el amor, no desde la urgencia. Eso lo cambia todo.

¿Qué lugares influyeron en tu forma de ver la moda y el diseño?‍

París fue el inicio. A los 21 años decidí mudarme y nunca más fui la misma. Me enamoré de los mercados vintage, de la arquitectura y de la elegancia de las mujeres parisinas. Japón fue otra revelación, su dedicación artesanal, su estética precisa y su conexión espiritual con el objeto me marcaron profundamente. Esos dos mundos contrastantes me enseñaron a honrar tanto la historia como el detalle.

Tus prendas hablan de transformación. ¿Cómo se refleja eso en tu proceso creativo?‍

Mis primeros diseños nacieron en un momento muy oscuro. Crear era una forma de sanarme. Hoy, sigo diseñando como acto de transformación, pero desde la luz. Cada pieza cuenta una historia: de cambios, de renacimiento, de poder personal. El contraste entre esos momentos muestra cuánto he evolucionado y cuánta fuerza habita en lo que creamos desde el alma.

¿Qué lugar ocupa la sostenibilidad en tu marca?‍

Es esencial. Trabajo con materiales reciclados, colaboro con costureras locales y valoro el proceso lento. Me gusta llamarlo “listo para volver a usar”, porque creo que podemos ser estilizados sin sacrificar el planeta. Mi madre me vestía con ropa de segunda mano, y eso me dio libertad desde chica. Hoy celebro esa misma libertad en mis diseños.

¿Qué historia cuenta tu última colección?‍

Está inspirada en el Jardín del Edén, un símbolo de belleza, deseo y transformación. Las rosas, la fruta prohibida, las serpientes y el acto de mudar la piel se traducen en patrones florales y texturas orgánicas. El hilo conductor es la feminidad divina, el poder de renacer desde lo más profundo. Cada prenda invita a mirar hacia adentro y abrazar el cambio.

How does Ibiza influence your daily work?

The island has a unique energy. I collaborate with local artists and artisans, which makes the process slower but more authentic. Being surrounded by nature constantly inspires me. The slower rhythm of winter allows me to tune into my intuition and create from a more sincere and collaborative space.

What other practices fuel your creativity beyond design?‍

Dancing is my most powerful ritual. Many of my ideas come while moving. I close my eyes, surrender to the music, and let my body speak. I’m also inspired by sunsets, the sea, the stillness of early mornings. Connecting with my body and nature is my main source of clarity.

What do you want people to feel when wearing your creations?‍

That they remember they have wings—even if they can’t see them. I like to think of myself as a modern fairy planting magic in the everyday. Clothing can be a tool for empowerment and healing. Every piece carries that intention: to remind you that you already have everything you need to soar.

What’s next for 2025?‍

I’ll be staying in Ibiza for most of the year. I plan to host intimate gatherings to present my collection in person. I’m also working on an online shop and experiences in my favorite cities. The idea is to keep sharing this world with those who resonate with beauty, magic, and transformation.

¿Cómo influye Ibiza en tu trabajo diario?

La isla tiene una energía única. Trabajo con artistas y artesanos locales, lo cual hace que el proceso sea más lento, pero también más auténtico. Estar rodeada de naturaleza me inspira constantemente. El ritmo tranquilo del invierno me permite bajar revoluciones, escuchar mi intuición y crear desde un lugar más sincero y colaborativo.

¿Qué otras prácticas alimentan tu creatividad más allá del diseño?‍

Bailar es mi ritual más poderoso. Es en el movimiento donde recibo muchas de mis ideas. Me dejo llevar por la música, cierro los ojos y dejo que el cuerpo se exprese. También me inspiran los atardeceres, el mar, el silencio de la madrugada. La conexión con el cuerpo y la naturaleza es mi fuente de claridad.

¿Qué querés que sienta alguien al vestir una de tus creaciones?‍

Que recuerde que tiene alas, aunque no las vea. Me gusta pensarme como una hada moderna que siembra magia en lo cotidiano. La ropa puede ser una herramienta de empoderamiento y sanación. Cada prenda lleva esa intención: recordarte que ya tenés todo lo que necesitás para volar alto.

¿Qué se viene para 2025?‍

Voy a quedarme en Ibiza la mayor parte del año. Quiero organizar encuentros íntimos para mostrar mi colección en persona. También estoy trabajando en una tienda online y en experiencias presenciales en mis ciudades favoritas. La idea es seguir compartiendo este universo con quienes resuenen con la transformación, la belleza y la magia.
