Building on the experience that defined her journey through Miss Universe, she now finds herself pursuing new aspirations and challenges, both personally and professionally. In this conversation with Regia Magazine, she reflects on authenticity, her evolving definition of success, and the importance of staying true to oneself.

Many people know you from your time as Miss Universe Argentina, but who is Bárbara Cabrera beyond the titles and social media?

Bárbara Cabrera is a happy woman, deeply in love, family-oriented, entrepreneurial, and empowered. I cherish life’s simple pleasures, enjoy sharing them with the people I love, and have a passion for discovering the world.

How would you describe the personal and professional chapter you are living today?

I am in a stage of fullness, love, and happiness that I truly enjoy. Professionally, I have been studying acting and preparing for a new challenge: joining a film project that will be shot in Argentina. The project is called Ojos Perversos, directed by Mariano Laffitte, and it will be presented at the Cannes Film Festival in France next year. On a personal level, I am deeply in love and in a relationship with the person I always dreamed of finding. My greatest wish is to become a mother and start a family in the near future.

What does beauty mean to you in an era where image seems to carry so much weight?

When I was younger and beginning my modeling career, I was very concerned with achieving the so-called “ideal measurements” required by the fashion world. Today, everything has changed. I believe beauty cannot be measured or weighed. True beauty lies in a person’s essence. To me, beauty means being healthy, original, having strong values, and, above all, culture and knowledge. I believe in staying true to yourself rather than following trends.

Can you recall a moment when you discovered your true confidence?

I have always been confident in myself, something my mother taught me from a very young age, and I am deeply grateful for that. Today, my partner is incredibly supportive in everything I set out to do, which gives me even more confidence in achieving my goals. Whenever I take on a new project, I devote myself to it completely and strive to do my very best.

What has been the greatest challenge of your career so far?

Representing Argentina at Miss Universe in 2022 was undoubtedly the greatest challenge of my career. Today, my new challenge is entering the world of cinema. Being part of a film is something I have dreamed about since childhood, so I am incredibly happy and excited that this opportunity has arrived at this stage of my life.

What motivates you to keep growing and exploring new projects?

New challenges are what motivate me the most. I enjoy learning and experiencing new things, and cinema has fascinated me since I was a child.

How do you deal with the pressure and expectations that come with the fashion and entertainment industries?

I genuinely enjoy every project and every job I am involved in because I know many of these experiences are unique. I focus on enjoying them without unnecessary pressure, while always maintaining responsibility and professionalism.

What role does authenticity play in your life and work?

Authenticity is essential to both my life and my work. I believe the only way to grow is to understand your strengths and weaknesses. That allows you to enhance what you do best and work on what you want to improve. This applies to every lifestyle and every profession. It is the only way to evolve and grow as a person.

Has any experience profoundly changed the way you see the world?

I always focus on positive experiences and on what brings me happiness and peace. Miss Universe definitely changed my life for the better. It taught me that beauty is not only physical but also rooted in a person’s essence and purpose. It marked a turning point in my life.

What inspires your approach to fashion and personal style?

I draw inspiration from some of the greatest icons of fashion and international modeling. My favorites are Cindy Crawford, Hailey Bieber, and Candice Swanepoel.

How has Argentina shaped your identity and the woman you are today?

I am proudly Argentine, born to Argentine parents, and I have lived here my entire life. I love my country. Although I enjoy traveling and discovering other cultures, ours remains my favorite. We have a beautiful country with extraordinary landscapes. I feel fortunate to be Argentine. I am very family-oriented, I love Sunday barbecues, mate, and medialunas, and I am passionate about football. Argentina is the best country in the world.

What have traveling and connecting with different cultures taught you?

Traveling and connecting with people from different cultures is a beautiful experience. It teaches you many things, but above all, it teaches respect for different ways of thinking and living.

What is the greatest lesson your journey has taught you so far?

The greatest lesson I have learned is to remain true to yourself and to understand that, with effort and preparation, anything is possible.

What dreams or goals would you like to achieve in the coming years?

I would love to continue pursuing acting. In the near future, I also hope to build a family, get married, and have children with my partner, whom I love deeply. He is a wonderful man and someone with whom I envision spending the rest of my life.

What would you like people to feel or understand when they see your work?

I would like to inspire others to pursue their dreams and work hard to make them a reality.

How do you define success at this stage of your life?

For me, success means being happy. It means finding balance between professional life and personal and family life. Success also means taking time to appreciate achievements and enjoy moments with family and friends.

What advice would you give to young women hoping to make their way in this industry?

I would encourage them to stay true to their own style, prepare themselves to achieve their dreams, and surround themselves with people who uplift and inspire them.

What still surprises you about yourself?

What surprises me most is that when I am truly passionate about something, I genuinely enjoy being disciplined and consistent.

If you had to describe this new chapter of your life in three words, what would they be?

Love, confidence, and fulfillment.

What comes next is discovering myself as an actress, embracing this new facet of my career, and enjoying this exciting project, as well as spending time with my partner and my family.

Bárbara Cabrera es una mujer feliz, enamorada, familiera, emprendedora y empoderada. Que ama disfrutar de lo simple de la vida, compartirla con los que ama y descubrir el mundo.

¿Cómo describirías el momento personal y profesional que estás viviendo hoy?

Estoy en un momento de plenitud, amor y felicidad que me encanta. En lo profesional este año estoy entrenando actuación y preparándome para un nuevo desafío, formar parte de una película

que se va a filmar en Argentina. El nombre del proyecto es “Ojos perversos” de Mariano Laffitte y el año que viene se va a presentar en el Festival de Cannes, en Francia. A su vez en lo personal me encuentro muy enamorada, en una relación con la persona que siempre soñé. Mi mayor anhelo es ser madre y formar una familia pronto.

¿Qué significa para ti la belleza en una época donde la imagen parece tener tanto peso?

Cuando era más chica y comencé a modelar me preocupaba mucho llegar a las “medidas ideales” para entrar en el mundo de la moda, los desfiles y las producciones de fotos. Hoy en día todo cambió. Siento que la belleza no se mide ni se pesa. Creo que la belleza de una persona está en su esencia. Belleza significa ser saludable, ser original, tener buenos valores y por sobre todo tener cultura. Creo que hay que ser uno mismo y no dejarse llevar por las modas.

¿Recuerdas algún momento en tu vida en el que hayas descubierto tu verdadera confianza?

Siempre tuve confianza en mí misma, es algo que me enseñó mi madre desde muy chica y se lo agradezco. Hoy en día mi pareja es muy compañero en todo lo que me propongo, eso también me hace sentir confiada en que puedo lograr las metas que me proponga. Además, cada vez que tengo un nuevo proyecto me enfoco 100% en eso para que todo salga lo mejor posible.

¿Cuál ha sido el mayor desafío que has enfrentado en tu carrera hasta ahora?

Mi mayor desafío en mi carrera fue participar de Miss Universo representando a Argentina en el 2022. Hoy mi nuevo desafío es formar parte de un proyecto de cine. Formar parte de una película es algo que siempre quise hacer desde pequeña. Estoy muy feliz y emocionada que haya llegado esta oportunidad en este momento de mi vida.

¿Qué te motiva a seguir creciendo y explorando nuevos proyectos?

Lo que me motiva a seguir creciendo son los nuevos desafíos. Me gusta aprender y experimentar lo nuevo. El cine siempre me llamó la atención desde pequeña.

¿Cómo manejas la presión y las expectativas que pueden surgir en la industria de la moda y el entretenimiento?

Yo disfruto mucho de todos los proyectos y de los trabajos en los que formó parte porque sé que muchas veces son experiencias únicas me enfoco en eso, sin presiones pero siempre con responsabilidad y profesionalismo.

¿Qué papel juega la autenticidad en tu vida y en tu trabajo?

Yo soy auténtica y creo que eso es fundamental en la vida y en mi trabajo. Me parece que la única manera de crecer es conocer tus fortalezas y tus debilidades. Entonces así puedes destacar tus

fortalezas y trabajar en aquello que sientas que puedes mejorar. Y aplica a cualquier estilo de vida y a todos los trabajos. Es la única manera de evolucionar como persona, y crecer.

¿Hay alguna experiencia que haya cambiado profundamente tu forma de ver el mundo?

Yo me enfoco siempre en mis experiencias positivas, en lo que me hace feliz y me da paz. La experiencia de Miss Universe definitivamente marcó mi vida de manera positiva. Creo que me hizo ver que la belleza no solo se ve en lo físico, sino en la esencia y en el propósito que uno tiene en la vida. Eso fue un antes y un después en mi vida.

¿Qué te inspira cuando se trata de moda y estilo personal?

Cuando se trata de moda y estilo personal me inspiro en los grandes referentes de la moda y del modelaje internacional. Mis favoritas son Cindy Crawford, Heily Bieber y Candice Swanepoel.

¿Cómo influye Argentina en tu identidad y en la mujer que eres hoy?

Yo soy 100% Argentina, de padres Argentinos. Viví toda mi vida en Argentina y amo mi país. Disfruto mucho de viajar y conocer otras culturas pero la que más me gusta es la nuestra. Tenemos un país hermoso con postales increíbles. Me siento afortunada de ser Argentina, soy familiera, compartir un asado los domingos, el mate y las medialunas. Y amo el fútbol. Argentina es el mejor país del mundo.

¿Qué has aprendido de viajar y conectar con personas de diferentes culturas?

Viajar y conectar con personas de otras culturas es hermoso. Es una experiencia que te deja muchas enseñanzas, pero por sobre todo te enseña el respeto pensar diferente y a tener costumbres diferentes.

 ¿Cuál es la mejor lección que te ha dejado tu recorrido hasta ahora?

La mejor lección que me ha dejado mi recorrido hasta ahora es ser fiel a uno mismo, que con esfuerzo y preparación se puede lograr todo lo que uno se proponga.

¿Qué sueños o metas te gustaría cumplir en los próximos años?

En un futuro me gustaría seguir dedicándome a la actuación. Y en un futuro cercano también me gustaría formar una familia, casarme, tener hijos con mi pareja que lo amo porque es un hombre

maravilloso y con quien me veo para toda la vida.

¿Qué te gustaría que la gente sintiera o entendiera cuando ve tu trabajo?

Me gustaría inspirar a personas a perseguir sus sueños y a trabajar por ellos.

¿Cómo defines el éxito en esta etapa de tu vida?

Para mí el éxito es ser feliz. Es encontrar el equilibrio entre la vida profesional y la personal/familiar. También el éxito para mí es hacerun párate y tener tiempo de disfrutar de los logros y de la familia y amigos.

¿Qué consejo le darías a una joven que sueña con abrirse camino en esta industria?

Mi consejo para todas aquellas jóvenes es que sean fieles a su estilo, que se preparen para cumplir sus sueños y que se rodeen de personas que las eleven.

¿Qué es aquello que todavía te sorprende de ti misma?

Lo que me sorprende de mí misma es que cuando algo realmente me motiva disfruto de ser constante y disciplinada.

Este nuevo capítulo si lo tuviera que describir en 3 palabras serían: Amor, confianza y plenitud.

¿Qué viene ahora para Bárbara Cabrera?

Lo que viene ahora para mí es descubrirme como actriz, otra de mis facetas, disfrutar de ese nuevo proyecto, de mi pareja y mi familia.
