Gabrielle Chanel returned from her trips to Venice with a revelation: a newfound passion for Byzantine art that would profoundly influence the aesthetic of her creations. She used it as a rich, bold source of inspiration that is reflected in her haute couture designs and extravagant jewelry pieces, which she layered together and wore like talismans.

This season, the iconic LES 4 OMBRES palette by CHANEL has been reinvented in the form of sumptuous finery for the eyes, in a Baroque spirit inspired by jewelry that has been preserved by the House’s Heritage Department. The look is powerful and sophisticated, its singularity perfectly mastered, its boldness embraced.

BAROCK’ ATTITUDE

The shine of hammered gold effect, a gleaming sparkle like that of precious stones, saturated pigments: the LES 4 OMBRES BYZANCE palettes are jewels that both fascinate and entice. They embody a “barock’ attitude”, one that is deeply ingrained in the design codes defined by Gabrielle Chanel and that the CHANEL Makeup Creation Studio has revisited through an array of mesmerizing looks. This limited-edition CHANEL release adorns eyes with Byzantine splendor.

PARURE BAROQUE

A jewel-toned palette in which deep shades of Ruby Red and Emerald Green are magnified by the luster of an Antique Gold and the iridescence of a Pearl White top coat.

PARURE IMPÉRALIE

A sense of opulence is conveyed through the glamor of a Yellow Sapphire and the purple dazzle of a Garnet, which are complemented by a Red Quartz and enhanced by a subtle Rose Gold top coat with a silver sheen.

PARURE VÉNITIENNE

A mysterious play of contrasts between a Coral Carnelian, Beige Gold, and Brown Amber, accentuated by the glistening sea green shimmer of a Moonstone top coat.

PARURE CRISTAL

A combination of soft Opal and Quartz hues, from a delicate pink to a mesmerizing taupe, that are elevated by a pearlescent sky blue top coat.
