La fotógrafa Sofía Malamute es conocida por su estilo distintivo que combina generosidad y admiración hacia sus sujetos. Publicado por IDEA, Behind The Scenes es una monografía que ofrece un vistazo detrás de las cámaras de la vida de Malamute, quien ha estado inmersa en el universo de la moda, incluso trabajando en redes sociales para Chanel.
Las imágenes, en su mayoría en color, están intercaladas con dos series en blanco y negro. La primera presenta a la editora de moda Anna Dello Russo, y la segunda, una colección de estatuas y edificios, busca transmitir calma y reflexión. Malamute explica que su intención es crear imágenes que alivien la ansiedad y permitan al espectador respirar y sonreír.
Malamute comparte que cada foto es un intento de capturar un sentimiento o un momento especial. A través de su lente, busca recordar no solo lo que ve, sino también las emociones que lo acompañan. “La fotografía es mi manera de congelar el tiempo”, dice.
El proceso de edición fue un viaje nostálgico. “Había miles de imágenes, y fue difícil decidir qué contar”, le dijo a Dazed. Además de retratos de amigos y personajes públicos, el libro incluye momentos familiares y personales, reflejando la vida de Malamute más allá de la moda.

Behind The Scenes es una celebración de años significativos en la vida de Malamute, coincidiendo con el auge de Instagram. “Fue la década de Instagram”, dijo Faena.

Behind The Scenes is a celebration of significant years in Malamute's life, coinciding with the rise of Instagram. “It was the decade of Instagram,” Faena states. Malamute fondly remembers those days as she documented her feelings. “Every night felt like the end of the world, yet there we were, enjoying and dancing.”
