Dean y Dan Caten, los hermanos gemelos detrás de la creativa marca de moda italiana Dsquared2, colocaron una “máquina de cambio de imagen” en el centro de su pasarela Otoño/Invierno 2024 en la noche inaugural de la Semana de la Moda Masculina de Milán.
El dispositivo ficticio sirvió como centro de transformación: modelos desaliñados entraron completamente blancos vistiendo conjuntos exploratorios de ropa urbana, y rápidamente salieron por el otro lado en una forma significativamente mejor, luciendo ropa formal a menudo brillante. Sus metamorfosis eran similares a trucos de magia, pero el chiste era que todo el staff estaba compuesto por gemelos idénticos para acelerar el proceso.
Dean and Dan Caten, the identical twin brothers behind the inventive Italian fashion label Dsquared2, planted a “makeover machine” in the center of their Fall/Winter 2024 runway on the opening night of Milan Fashion Week Men’s.
The fictitious device served as a transformational hub: disheveled models entered the all-white facade wearing exploratory streetwear ensembles, and they quickly exited the other side in significantly better shape, sporting often-glossy formalwear. Their metamorphoses were akin to magic tricks, but the gag was that the entire cast was composed of identical twins to speed up the process.
"Esta temporada, nos inspiramos en nosotros mismos", dijeron los hermanos Caten a Hypebeast detrás de la pasarela. “A la gente le encanta representar a los gemelos como personas idénticas, pero tenemos personalidades muy diferentes. Este desfile fue una oportunidad para nosotros de mostrar nuestras diferentes facetas a través de ropa de día y de noche, presentadas con un casting doble”.
En general, la colección se puede dividir en dos categorías principales: cruda y refinada. "Lo que más nos gusta es crear actitudes distintas en nuestras colecciones", afirmaron Dean y Dan.
“This season, we’re inspired by ourselves,” the Caten brothers told Hypebeast backstage. “People love to depict twins as identical people, but we have very different personalities. This show was an opportunity for us to show our different sides through daywear and eveningwear, presented with a twin casting.”
At large, the collection can be divided into two main categories: raw and refined. “The thing we love the most is creating distinct attitudes in our collections,” affirmed Dean and Dan.
