In her second collection for Givenchy, Sarah Burton delves into the idea of powerful femininity—an energy that radiates from the skin, the body’s movement, and the clarity of form.
The designer deconstructs the codes of classic tailoring, stripping them of rigidity to reveal a newfound softness. Structures lift away from the body, suggesting lightness. In this delicate tension between dressing and undressing, Burton develops her own vocabulary, one that celebrates the autonomy of the female body without concealing it or imposing armor.
Transparencies, flowing fabrics, and precise cuts define the collection: shirts that frame the torso, skirts with subtle slits, mesh dresses in pure lines, and minimal bra tops.
The boudoir spirit is reimagined as a realm of power, in heavy satin slip dresses, Watteau details, and combinations of lace and leather that evoke intimacy and control simultaneously.
With this collection, Burton redefines the balance between strength and delicacy, opening a new chapter for Givenchy—one where femininity is understood as light.

I wanted to explore the strengths of women through feminine archetypes. It started with peeling back the structure of tailoring to reveal skin and a sense of lightness and ease — and then exploring the female vocabulary of dress and undress.

En su segunda colección para Givenchy, Sarah Burton profundiza en la idea de una feminidad poderosa entendida como energía que se manifiesta desde la piel, el movimiento y la claridad de las formas.
La diseñadora descompone los códigos de la sastrería clásica, despojándolos de rigidez para revelar una nueva suavidad. La estructura se abre, se despega del cuerpo y deja entrever ligereza. En esta tensión entre el vestir y el desvestir, Burton desarrolla un vocabulario propio que celebra la autonomía del cuerpo femenino, sin ocultarlo ni imponerle armaduras.
Transparencias, tejidos vaporosos y cortes precisos definen la colección. Camisas que enmarcan el torso, faldas con aberturas contenidas, vestidos de malla que caen en líneas puras y tops mínimos.
El espíritu del boudoir aparece reinterpretado como un territorio de poder, en vestidos de satén pesado, detalles Watteau y combinaciones de encaje y cuero que evocan cercanía y control a la vez.
